Like in most popular vacation destinations, you won’t have any trouble discovering bars on Catalina Island. With more than 30 spots to get cocktails on Catalina, you could spend several vacations exploring all the great watering holes on the island. Here are just a few of our many favorites.
Late night – Let’s face it, when you are on vacation you’re probably staying up way too late and having way too much fun. Thanks to its retro dive bar ambiance and unique décor, our favorite late night bar on Catalina Island is the Marlin Club.
Happy Hour – Why stop at an hour? Bluewater Avalon has great drink specials – and great drinks – not to mention delicious appetizers and snacks. Available in the bar from 3 to 6 p.m. every weekday, happy hour at Bluewater should be part of every Catalina vacation.
Before dinner – Thanks to their amazing selection of margaritas – and just about every other cocktail you can imagine – Maggie’s Blue Rose is one of our favorite spots to stop for a pre-dinner drink. Let’s face it, their food is so irresistible, a pre-dinner drink often becomes drinks with dinner.
Inside – Speaking of drinks with dinner, you can’t miss with dinner at Steve’s Steakhouse and Seafood. Don’t forget to order an appetizer, like those yummy coconut shrimp served on the Avalon Tasting and Cultural Walking Tour.
Outside – Descanso Beach offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to put your feet in the sand and a drink in your hand. One of the only places in the state where you can order cocktails on the beach, Descanso is famous for its tempting concoctions and spectacular atmosphere.
On the move – Ready for a real-life overview of the bars on Catalina Island, along with a local’s unique perspective on Avalon?
