It’s probably not a surprise that we love food. And eating. And celebrating food. Which means our second favorite event on Catalina Island (after the Taste Around of Avalon, of course) is Avalon Restaurant Week.
This awesome week gives restaurants, chefs and cooks a chance to show off a bit with a series of fixed price menus that showcase that particular establishment’s skills and specialties. For 2018, Restaurant Week will be from June 1 to June 7.
Depending on the business, Restaurant Week menus will be offered for lunch at a price of $10, $15 or $20; for dinner for $20, $30 or $40; and some establishments, including Lloyd’s of Avalon and Original Jack’s Country Kitchen, will be offering breakfast.
Offering menus for both lunch and dinner will be Antonio’s Cabaret, the Avalon Grille, Bluewater Avalon, El Galleon and Mi Casita. Offering lunch menus will be Three Palms Arcade, Original Antonio’s and Luau Larry’s. Seaport Bistro will offer dinner.
As for Catalina Food Tours, we already offer a sample menu of some of the best tastes of Avalon on the Avalon Tasting & Cultural Walking Tour and the Catalina Happy Hour Tour, but we want to do even more. If you purchase tickets for either tour during Avalon Restaurant Week, we’ll give you 18% percent off. All you need to do is use the code TASTY18 when you check out. Tickets can be used through the end of the year, but must be purchased by June 7.
We’ve enjoyed the last six years of Restaurant Week with all of its tempting and delicious menus that our local talented chefs have conjured, but we have to let you in on a little secret – we’re really looking forward to next year, when the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau has some delicious and decadent plans afoot. You won’t want to miss these experiential events. Might be a good time to start planning to be here next year – just sayin’.
